Description

An exceptional and highly desirable Original German Third Reich Technische Nothilfe (TeNo) Senior Official Visor Cap manufactured by the prestigious firm eReL (Robert Lubstein, Berlin). Renowned for producing some of the finest quality headgear of the Third Reich era, eReL caps were privately purchased and are highly sought after by advanced collectors for their superior craftsmanship and distinctive design.

This elegant visor cap is constructed of high-quality dark blue wool with rich black velvet center banding, retaining excellent color and form. The silver bullion piping remains crisp and intact, denoting senior official rank within the TeNo organization. The front is adorned with the original silver finished TeNo national eagle and cockade insignia, both displaying fine detail and an attractive aged patina.

The cap features its original black patent leather chinstrap secured by matching side buttons. The vulcanized black visor remains in excellent condition with only minor age-related wear. The interior is beautifully finished with a silk-lined crown and retains the original celluloid diamond bearing the desirable eReL trademark, confirming manufacture by one of Germany's premier cap makers. The leather sweatband remains supple and well-preserved.

The Technische Nothilfe (Technical Emergency Service) was established in 1919 and later became an important technical and civil defense organization within Germany, responsible for maintaining essential infrastructure and emergency services. Senior officials were required to purchase their own uniforms and headgear, resulting in privately tailored examples of exceptionally high quality such as this outstanding eReL-produced visor cap.

A superb original TeNo senior official visor cap displaying excellent preservation, outstanding craftsmanship, and strong collector appeal. An impressive addition to any advanced collection of Third Reich headgear, civil service memorabilia, or TeNo artifacts. The Technische Nothilfe (TeNo) was established in 1919 as a technical emergency service organization tasked with maintaining essential public utilities and infrastructure during strikes, civil unrest, and national emergencies. During the Third Reich, the organization evolved into an auxiliary technical police and civil defense force, working closely alongside state authorities and emergency services.

Unlike enlisted personnel, TeNo officers and senior officials were generally responsible for purchasing their own uniforms and insignia. As a result, many privately tailored pieces were produced to exceptionally high standards by prestigious German outfitters such as Erel. These privately acquired uniforms often featured superior materials, expert craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail, making surviving examples highly desirable among collectors today.
