Description:
This is an original German Waffen-SS visor cap eagle, RZM-marked SS 475/42, manufactured by Ferdinand Wagner. The insignia is constructed from an injection-molded zinc-alloy base, finished with an original silver wash and protective lacquer.
The eagle retains approximately 98% of its original silver finish, displaying exceptional eye appeal. The obverse features the classic left-facing SS eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons—an iconic and highly sought-after Waffen-SS visor cap emblem.
The reverse is hollow-backed and clearly maker-marked “SS 475/42 RZM”, correctly identifying production by Ferdinand Wagner, a known and respected RZM-licensed manufacturer.
Measurements are approximately 2½ inches wide by 1¼ inches tall.
A high-condition, fully authentic example, ideal for completing a period-correct Waffen-SS visor cap or for inclusion in an advanced Third Reich insignia collection.
