Description
This Original Korean War Soviet Tula Arsenal SKS Semi-Automatic Rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm caliber with matching serial numbers and original folding blade bayonet, presented in excellent condition. Manufactured at the famed Tula Arsenal during the early Cold War and Korean War era, this SKS represents one of the most iconic Soviet military rifles of the 20th century. The Tula Arsenal star marking is prominently displayed on the receiver cover, confirming its original Soviet production and military heritage.
This rifle hardwood stock has been refinished with matching serialized components throughout, including the receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, trigger group, magazine, and stock. The metal finish remains exceptionally strong with only light handling wear consistent with careful preservation over the decades. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the rifle remains mechanically excellent.
The SKS (Samozaryadny Karabin sistemy Simonova) was designed by Sergei Simonov and officially adopted by the Soviet Union in 1945. Although eventually overshadowed by the AK-47 platform, the SKS saw extensive use during the Korean War and became renowned for its rugged reliability, accuracy, and durable construction. Soviet-produced Tula Arsenal SKS rifles are especially sought after by collectors due to their high-quality machining, historical significance, and comparatively limited production numbers.
Features include the original folding cruciform bayonet, fixed 10-round internal magazine, hardwood stock, hooded front sight, adjustable rear sight, and gas-operated semi-automatic action. The rifle exhibits the classic craftsmanship associated with early Soviet military firearms and remains one of the finest examples of Cold War military surplus collecting.
An outstanding all-matching Soviet Tula Arsenal SKS rifle that would make an excellent addition to any military firearm, Cold War, or Korean War collection.
