The most important feature is the adjustable shaper / stretcher insert, which serves two critical functions:
1.) It restores and maintains the correct oval shape of the hat, helping preserve the original form without stress or distortion.
2.) It allows the hat to be displayed or stored while fully supported by the sweatband, exactly as the cap was intended to rest when worn, preventing unnecessary strain on the crown, visor, and stitching.
