Description
This is an original German Third Reich 2 Reichsmark silver coin featuring President Paul von Hindenburg, produced during the early years of the Nazi era. Struck in high-silver content, this coin represents the transitional period of German coinage following the rise of the Third Reich and remains one of the most recognizable silver issues of the period. The obverse displays a left-facing bust of Reichspräsident Paul von Hindenburg with the inscription “PAUL VON HINDENBURG” and the year of issue. The reverse features the German Reichsadler (eagle) clutching a wreath enclosing a swastika, with the denomination “2 REICHSMARK” and “DEUTSCHES REICH” around the perimeter.
Coins of this type were widely circulated and struck in .625 silver, making them desirable to both WWII collectors and numismatists focused on Third Reich–era currency. This example shows honest age and circulation wear consistent with period use, retaining clear details and strong historical character.
