Description
This Original Auto-Ordnance Thompson .45 ACP 20 Round Stick Magazine. This is a high capacity magazine for the Thompson 1927A-1 and M1 rifles and pistols chambered in .45 ACP caliber. This black finished steel magazine has a flush metal base plate to complete the package. It holds 20 rounds of .45 ACP and would be a great spare or replacement for a broken or lost magazine. Fits Thompson 1927A-1 and Thompson M1 Modern Thompson Guns Made in Worcester, MA - These mags will fit. Will NOT Fit: Thompsons made in West Hurley, NY or prior to 1990. This is an Original U.S. Auto-Ordnance Thompson 20 Round .45 ACP Stick Magazine in excellent condition. This authentic World War II-era detachable box magazine was made for the Thompson Submachine Gun, chambered in .45 ACP. This heavy-gauge blued steel magazine was used by Model 1921, 1928, M1, and M1A1 Thompson submachine guns used by U.S. military forces during World War II. The straight body magazine is known to shooters and collectors as a 'stick' magazine and it has a 20 round capacity. These stick mags were used by the US military during WWII as opposed to the larger drum mags. And the stick magazines were preferred by many because of their compact size and because they worked much better than the larger drum magazines. Finish is about 75% strong original blued finish. There are clear manufacturer markings on the magazine body and strong feed lips. The follower and the spring are both functioning properly and have the correct amount of tension. The baseplate is securely attached to the magazine body and has the correct manufacturing characteristics of a Stick magazine made during WWII at the Auto-Ordnance factory.
History
The Thompson was used by U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and by the troops of other Allied nations during WWII. These little mags were used as primary and secondary equipment on the battlefield and have an important place in history as well as in the world of modern firearms collecting and shooting. This would make a great addition to any American military, submachine gun, or WWII firearms collection. An excellent original WWII U.S. Thompson 20-round stick magazine, an excellent addition to any American military, submachine gun or WWII firearms collection.
