Description
This is an original World War II U.S. Victory Medal. It is issued in excellent condition with original full-length ribbon. The U.S. Victory Medal was awarded by the United States after the end of World War II to all members of the U.S. Armed Forces that served honorably during the time period from 7 December 1941 with the attack on Pearl Harbor, to 31 December 1946. The Victory Medal is one of the most well-known of all U.S. military issue medals from World War II.
Medal: Liberation (Victory) standing full-length on the helmet of a war god. The goddess holds the broken hilt of a sword in her right hand and the broken blade in her left. This is the image of defeat of tyranny and the return to peace. The reverse of the medal contains the inscription "World War II" surrounded by the words "Freedom From Fear and Want" and "Freedom of Speech and Religion" and indicates the ideals that the Allied nations were fighting for during the World War II.
Original Ribbon on Medal: The original ribbon is bright and very vibrant. It is a beautiful rainbow of colors representing the various Allied nations fighting in the war. The colors of the ribbon remain strong and are very well preserved. There is a slight wear on the ribbon and that is all. The ribbon is securely attached to the back of the medal and looks to be in very good shape for its age.

Historical Significance
Authorized by an Act of Congress on July 6, 1945, the World War II Victory Medal was given to all members of the U.S. Armed Forces that served honorably while the U.S. was at war, from the date of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, until V-J day, August 15, 1945, and for service from September 2, 1945 to December 31, 1946. It was one of the largest issued medals by the U.S. with over 12 million awarded to military and civilian personnel who served during the time that the U.S. was at war in World War II. The medal and ribbon are common, but very few have the full-size ribbon attached in such great condition.
Condition
The bronze has attractive natural aging, with very sharp and detailed images. The ribbon is in excellent shape, very clean and free of any fading or deterioration. There are a couple of very minor storage related marks on the reverse of the ribbon, as well as a few minor age-related wrinkles and folds - but nothing that would detract from the display quality of this nice original World War II Victory Medal.
A great chance to add a piece of American history from World War II to your collection of U.S. military medals, your display of items from World War II, to complete the awards of a veteran, or to your collection of historical memorabilia.
