Description:
This is an excellent example of a late-war production Mauser HSc semi-automatic pistol, manufactured in 1944 at Mauser-Werke A.G., Oberndorf am Neckar, and issued for German military and police use during the final years of World War II. The HSc (Hahn Selbstspanner – self-cocking hammer) was Mauser’s compact service pistol introduced in 1940 and widely used by the Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, Police units, and late-war Heer personnel.
This wartime example exhibits the typical late-war finish with visible factory machining marks and a military blue finish consistent with 1944 production. The pistol retains nearly all of its original finish and shows very little handling, placing it in near mint condition, an increasingly difficult level of preservation to find on late-war HSc pistols.
The left side of the slide is correctly marked with the Mauser banner followed by
“Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf a.N.”, along with model designation “Mod. HSc” and caliber marking “Kal. 7.65mm”.
Military acceptance markings are present, consistent with wartime production, along with the proper serial number on the frame.
The pistol is complete with an original WW2 German leather holster, maker marked and dated, forming a correct rig for the period. Also included are two correct wartime Mauser HSc magazines, both proper style with correct floorplates, completing a desirable and authentic set.
The HSc pistols produced in 1944 were among the last of the Mauser wartime handguns and are highly sought after by collectors due to their limited production, late-war characteristics, and frequent association with Kriegsmarine and police issue.
Condition:
Near Mint. The pistol retains nearly all of its original wartime finish with sharp markings and excellent mechanical function. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Holster remains in very good to excellent condition with clear markings and intact stitching. Both magazines are correct wartime examples and function properly. A very clean and highly collectible late-war Mauser HSc rig.
A very desirable all-correct WW2 German Mauser HSc pistol rig, complete with holster and spare magazines, and extremely difficult to find in this level of preservation.
