The Bronze grade was awarded for participation in 15 close combat days, making it a highly desirable and historically significant frontline combat decoration.

The Close Combat Clasp was one of the most respected and difficult-to-earn awards in the German military during World War II. Unlike many decorations, it required documented, repeated exposure to intense frontline combat, often at extremely close quarters. Veterans who earned this badge were regarded as among the most hardened and experienced soldiers of the war.
