Description
This is an original World War II German Waffen-SS identification tag (Erkennungsmarke) issued to a soldier in the 4th Machine Gun Company of the Panzergrenadier Regiment "Norge," part of the SS Division "Wiking. Made of Zinc Aloy in very good condidtion.
History
During World War II, German soldiers were issued identification tags (commonly called Erkennungsmarken), which served as essential tools for identifying the wounded or dead on the battlefield.
