Description:
This is an highly desirable Original WW2 German Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by the prestigious Berlin maker C.E. Juncker, presented in excellent condition. Instituted by Hermann Göring on August 12, 1935, the Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge was awarded to military aviators upon successful completion of flight training and the earning of pilot qualification. It quickly became one of the most iconic and respected badges worn by Luftwaffe personnel throughout the Second World War.
This fine original example features the classic Juncker-quality construction, finely die-struck with superb detail throughout. The obverse displays a beautifully rendered, outstretched Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounded by the signature oak leaf and laurel wreath symbolizing strength and victory. Juncker-produced badges are especially prized by collectors for their crisp strike, quality materials, and textbook hardware.
The reverse retains its correct C.E. Juncker characteristics, with proper pin, hinge, and catch assembly, indicative of wartime Juncker manufacture. The badge shows excellent original finish with sharp feathering to the eagle, strong detail to the wreath, and an attractive untouched patina consistent with age. The hardware remains fully functional and original, with no signs of repair or tampering.
Founded in Berlin, C.E. Juncker was one of the premier manufacturers of Third Reich awards and produced some of the finest Luftwaffe badges of the era. Their Pilot’s Badges are considered among the most desirable due to superior workmanship and historical significance.
A beautiful original Luftwaffe combat aviation award by one of the most respected wartime makers, this Juncker Pilot’s Badge would make an exceptional addition to any advanced German awards, aviation, or Luftwaffe collection.
