Description:

This WW2 German M35 Luftwaffe Double Decal SE64 Helmet Stamped 3967 with Liner & Chinstrap is all Original. The Luftwaffe decal depicts a silver eagle with outstretched wings, and the national colors with the tri-shield formation. Helmet retains a good portion of its original smooth, Luftwaffe blue/grey paint. Second pattern Luftwaffe eagle decal is retained about 95%. National tri-color shield decal is retained about 89%.

History:

The M35 helmet was introduced in 1935, replacing earlier versions that had been in service since World War I. It featured a more streamlined and efficient design, with improved metallurgy and a better ventilation system. The helmet was constructed from high-quality steel and had a distinctive rolled edge to enhance durability and reduce the risk of fragmentation upon impact.

Initially, the M35 helmets were painted in a smooth field-gray finish, but Luftwaffe helmets were specifically issued in a blue-gray hue to distinguish them from other branches of the Wehrmacht. The double-decal configuration featured the national tricolor shield on the right side and the Luftwaffe eagle insignia clutching a swastika on the left.
