This is an outstanding original WWII German MP44 / StG44 30-round magazine, manufactured by “fxo”, the wartime code assigned to C.G. Haenel of Suhl, one of the key manufacturers involved in production of the revolutionary Maschinenpistole 44 / Sturmgewehr 44 system.
The magazine is clearly marked “MP44” along with the “fxo” manufacturer code and retains its original military acceptance markings, including the correct Waffenamt inspection stamp. These markings confirm wartime German production and make this a highly desirable accessory for any MP44, StG44, or late-war German infantry weapons display.
Designed for the 7.92x33mm Kurz cartridge, this 30-round detachable box magazine was part of one of the most important small-arms developments of the Second World War. The MP44 / StG44 is widely recognized as one of the first true assault rifles, bridging the gap between submachine guns and full-power battle rifles.
