Description

This Original CZ Model 27 (?Z vz. 27) pistol is an original semi-automatic, 7.65mm Browning calibre, (32 ACP) handgun, that was manufactured in the occupied country of Czechoslovakia, during World War 2.

Historical Background

CZ Model 27 Pistole Modell 27 (t) The CZ Model 27 was developed from the earlier Model 24 pistol and was made by ?eská Zbrojovka, at their factory in Strakonice, Czechoslovakia. The Germans occupied Czechoslovakia in March 1939, and, under their control, the country’s large arms industry was used for the production of arms for use in World War II.

The Germans continued to produce the Model 27 pistol, which was given the designation of Pistole Modell 27 (t), the “(t)” standing for tschechisch or Czech, as the pistol was of Czech origin.

The pistol was used as a secondary arm, for personal protection, etc. Because of its simple design and low price, it was very popular among the German forces and was issued to German military, police, etc. Also, to various German organizations, which were engaged in security matters. Furthermore, it was used by German administrative personnel, etc.

Design & Features

The CZ Model 27 pistol is a straight-blowback, semi-automatic pistol designed to fire the popular 7.65mm Browning cartridge (.32 ACP).

Typical features include:

  • Caliber: 7.65mm Browning / .32 ACP
  • Action: Semi-automatic, blowback operated
  • Magazine: Detachable single-stack box magazine
  • Capacity: 8 rounds
  • Barrel Length: Approximately 3.9 inches
  • Overall Length: Approximately 6.5 inches
  • Construction: Machined steel frame and slide
  • Sights: Fixed front blade and rear notch
  • Safety: Frame-mounted manual safety
  • Grips: Checkered composition grip panels
  • Origin: Czechoslovakia under German occupation
  • Manufacturer: ?eská Zbrojovka, Strakonice
  • German Designation: Pistole Modell 27 (t)

Some pistols even have different proof marks, acceptance stamps and variations in finish. So even small differences can tell you a great deal about the production of a CZ27, especially when it was made and for whom it was produced.

Condition

Overall, an Excellent Condition WWII German-occupation CZ Model 27 for sale.

Metal surfaces are in excellent condition and controls, sights, grip panels, and other exterior items are in fine shape also with only slight signs of wear and tear from use and storage.

Please take a close look at the detailed photographs of this piece, for within them you will find the detailed specifics relating to the pistol’s configuration and marking as well as all other physical details, including but not limited to accept marks, proof marks, grip frame, as well as magazine, etc.

Collector Significance

German-occupation CZ Model 27 pistols are an interesting addition to WWII firearms collecting. Unlike many German weapons, the Model 27 was not a German designed and produced arm, but rather a German- produced and procured arm, made by the sophisticated Czech arms industry during German-occupation of the Czechoslovakia.

The CZ Model 27 pistol is an item of interest to WWII historians and to collectors of European military pistols. The pistol was manufactured in Czechoslovakia and was a fine example of a modern, compact military/policeman’s sidearm. German occupied Czechoslovakia and, under German wartime procurement, the Model 27 was turned out in excellent numbers. In excellent original condition, the CZ Model 27, in .32 ACP, is a highly sought after, WWII, German-issued, sidearm.

A excellent original WWII German-occupation Czech made CZ Model 27 in 7.65 x 17.9mm (.32 ACP) pistol would be a great add to any collection of German-service pistols (i.e. Walther PP/PPK, Mauser HSc, Sauer 38H, etc.) that have found their way into a collection as being compact sidearms, etc., that were carried by members of the German military.

A fine original WWII German-occupation CZ Model 27 pistol, outstanding in its classic design and historical significance.
