History
The WW2 German Wehrmacht Army Administrative Officer’s collar tabs are known in German as Heeresverwaltung (Army Administration). The German Army officers who wore these tabs managed logistical and financial and supply operations which supported both frontline and support units. The Wehrmacht officers wore standard dark green (Waffenfarbe) base cloth tabs which featured bright lemon-yellow piping to indicate Administrative branch status. The hand-embroidered silver bullion wire insignia on the tabs indicates officer rank and provides both prestige and distinction to the wearer. The buckram stiffening material used in these collar tabs provides typical period support for maintaining proper form when officers wear them on their tunics. These tabs show excellent preservation with only small signs of aging while maintaining their original colors and precise details. The German Army administrative collar tabs are highly sought after by collectors because they symbolize the vital administrative core of the Wehrmacht during World War II which controlled supply management and transportation and personnel records and financial operations throughout the Wehrmacht's extensive war machine.
