This is an excellent, all-original World War II Japanese Type 14 Nambu semi-automatic pistol chambered in 8mm Nambu, produced at the Nagoya Arsenal and dated 1944. This example is fully matching, including the frame, bolt, and numbered components, and comes complete with its original leather holster rig and one matching-numbered magazine, making it a highly desirable late-war set.
Condition & Features
The pistol remains in excellent condition, especially for a 1944 production example—well into the period of accelerated wartime manufacturing. The blued finish remains strong, with only minimal handling wear, and all arsenal markings, characters, and serials are crisp and legible. The grips are tight, well-fit, and retain their original wartime character.
Mechanically, the Type 14 Nambu presents the features typical of late-war Nagoya manufacture, including simplified machining, rougher internal cuts, and the enlarged trigger guard—introduced in 1939 to accommodate winter gloves used by Japanese soldiers in colder operational theaters.
