Description: 

A beautiful Original Imperial Japanese Order of the Golden Kite (Kinshi Kunsh) 7th Class. Awarded with its original case in superb mint condition. The Order of the Golden Kite was established by Emperor Meiji in 1890. It was Japan's highest military-only decoration. Awarded for Bravery, Distinguished Service, and Achievements on the Battlefield. The 7th Class was the lowest grade of the Order and was awarded to enlisted men for outstanding services and for Bravery in Battle.

Award to a Private soldier who showed the greatest bravery in combat. A very rare award, the Golden Kite is the highest military award given by the Emperor. The Golden Kite 7th Class was conferred upon enlisted men who showed extreme bravery in the face of the enemy. This Order was awarded in 7 classes, the 7th Class being awarded to Private soldiers. The medal is in the form of a golden kite, supported on the backs of two crossed samurai staffs, with a large sword between them. The medal is of silver, with gilt accents, and is in excellent condition with very sharp details and a wonderful patina. The ribbon is in excellent condition with no signs of aging or wear. The suspension ring and ribbon slider are also in excellent condition and retain their original highly colorful finish.

The case is of fitted type and in excellent condition, displaying the original finish on the exterior, a clean interior and the case is presented in a very crisp and neat manner. This medal and case make a fantastic display piece for any collector of Japanese medals, awards and WW2 militaria.

The Order of the Golden Kite was awarded in 7 classes with the 7th Class being the lowest award made to enlisted men for bravery and actions in combat. Complete sets of mint awards with their original cases are always in high demand by all serious collectors of Japanese militaria and all Imperial awards.
