This is an outstanding example of a WWII Soviet SVT-40 Tokarev semi-automatic rifle, manufactured in 1943 at the Tula Arsenal, one of the primary Soviet production facilities during the Great Patriotic War. The SVT-40 (Samozaryadnaya Vintovka Tokareva, Model 1940) represents the Soviet Union’s effort to modernize its infantry with a semi-automatic service rifle chambered in the powerful 7.62x54R cartridge. This rifles has been professionally refinished and is in near mint condition.
