This is an exceptional and highly desirable WW2 Original Third Reich German Cross in Gold by C. E. Juncker, correctly maker marked “2”, presented in mint condition. Instituted on September 28, 1941, the German Cross in Gold (Deutsches Kreuz in Gold) was awarded to recognize repeated acts of battlefield bravery or exceptional military leadership beyond the requirements of the Iron Cross 1st Class, making it one of the Third Reich’s most prestigious combat decorations.
