Description
Original WW2 US "AMES" Army 1942 T-Handle Shovel with Canvas Cover.
This World War II U.S. Army Model 1942 T-Handle Entrenching Shovel exists as an authentic original piece that includes its original canvas cover. The standard-issue tool served all war theaters as infantrymen and engineers and paratroopers carried it for functionality and durability. The shovel contains a T-shaped wooden handle which provides improved grip and leverage for users. The spade blade consists of forged steel material which displays its original wartime finish together with authentic signs of aging and field usage. The reverse side of the blade shows U.S. markings together with manufacturer stamps or production dates, but these markings differ between manufacturers. The shovel comes with its authentic M1943-style canvas cover which consists of thick OD green canvas material with metal snap closure and reinforced stitching. The cover includes rear belt hook attachments which enable users to attach it to standard U.S. M36 combat belts or field equipment. The WW2 T-Handle entrenching tool and cover set represents a fundamental piece of every GI's equipment during World War II and makes an excellent addition to military displays and reenactment kits and collections of original WWII U.S. field equipment.
