Description
This is an authentic World War II U.S. European-African-Middle Eastern (EAME) Campaign Medal, awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who served in the European, North African, and Mediterranean Theaters of Operations between December 7, 1941, and November 8, 1945.
This original EAME Campaign Medal is awarded for service in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations between December 7, 1941 and November 8, 1945. The medal shows some nice patina on the surface with a nice, sharp broze casting and is in excellent shape with no dings, dents, scratches, corrosion or any other kind of damage. The full length ribbon is in excellent shape and has all of the original and correct colors, very nice and untouched. This is a fantastic example of a World War II campaign award and is sure to be a proud addition to any collection.
The reverse side of this Medal features a reproduction of the Great Seal of the United States as mandated by law. The dates of the Eligibility Period for the award of this Medal appear between the right and left talons of the eagle. Above the shield the inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” appears and below the shield the inscription “FOR SERVICE” appears.
This example comes with the full length ribbon which is in very good condition with only a few minor signs of aging. The ribbon has all of the proper colors in very good condition and represents all of the various theaters and services that fought in this massive campaign. The medal itself is in excellent condition and has a very attractive patina. There is no significant corrosion or wear to the details of the medal. This is a very nice example of a WWII campaign medal and would make a great addition to any collection of American militaria.

European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal were typically awarded with bronze campaign stars which were attached to the ribbon to indicate participation in certain campaigns. Other devices were awarded for particular services rendered such as silver campaign stars for second and subsequent campaign participation, arrowheads for assualt landings, and the Fleet Marine Force Combat Operation Insignia for participation in certain operations. This example does not have any of the devices attached to it, it is presented in the typical issue format for which it was awarded during WWII.
