Description
This is an original World War II U.S. Marine Corps shotgun ammo pouch manufactured by Airtress Midland and dated 1945, accompanied by 12 original Winchester 12-gauge 00-buck military issued shells. These canvas shell pouches were issued to Marines and other units who fielded 12-gauge shotguns for guard, MP and close-quarters roles; Airtress Midland examples are documented in period contract pouches and collectors’ references. The pouch is constructed of wartime khaki/OD canvas with individual stitched loops to hold 12 shells, a foldover flap secured by lift-the-dot snaps, and belt loops on the reverse for wear on the trouser/belt.
Condition
Pouch: Honest, wearable collector condition — canvas is supple with expected age soil/discoloration and light fraying at stress points; snaps functional; belt loops intact. Some light verdigris on brass fittings consistent with storage and age.
Shells: All twelve shells are period Winchester rounds. Do not assume they are inert — they are original-era shells and may contain live powder/primers. We describe them as original Winchester 00-buck shells; buyer is responsible for lawful possession and safe handling.
