History

The "Golden Party Badge" (Goldenes Parteiabzeichen) was a high-ranking honor given to members of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), commonly known as the Nazi Party, during the era of the Third Reich in Germany. The badge was introduced by Adolf Hitler on December 9, 1933, to recognize individuals who had shown exceptional loyalty and commitment to the party.

The Golden Party Badge was intended to distinguish long-serving members of the NSDAP, specifically those who had been part of the party since its early years. To be eligible for this badge, a member had to fulfill certain criteria, including continuous active membership and service to the party. The badge was awarded in a limited quantity and was considered a prestigious honor.

The design of the badge featured an eagle with outstretched wings, holding a swastika in its talons, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. It was made of gold and was typically worn on the lapel of the recipient's uniform or civilian clothing.

The Golden Party Badge held symbolic significance within the Nazi Party, signifying the recipient's dedication to the party's ideals and principles. It was also an outward display of a member's loyalty and devotion to Adolf Hitler and the leadership of the NSDAP.
