Description
This is an WW2 German Walther P.38 AC41, Caliber 9mm Pistol with an origiinal Marked P.38 black leather Holster.
History
The Walther P.38 pistol served as a classic and historically important WWII German firearm which displayed the manufacturing year "ac 41" indicating Walther produced it in 1941. The Wehrmacht adopted the 9mm Parabellum chambered P.38 as its standard service pistol to replace the aging Luger P.08. The P.38 introduced modern double-action/single-action trigger operation and decocking safety lever together with cost-effective robust design features for wartime manufacturing. The pistol maintains its original blued finish from World War II while showing matching serial numbers which demonstrate the production standards of early wartime before mid-war production became more streamlined. The "ac 41" code indicates that this pistol originated from Walther's Zella-Mehlis factory in Thuringia which operated as a primary manufacturing site during the Third Reich period. A black leather hard-shell holster from World War II accompanies the pistol while maintaining its original stitching and embossed markings. The Wehrmacht issued these holsters to officers and NCOs and they exist as standalone collectible items. A WWII militaria collector or historical firearms enthusiast can acquire this Walther P.38 AC41 set to own one of the most significant sidearms from World War II which brought innovative design and historic service achievements.
