Description:

This is an Original German “Deutscher Volkssturm Wehrmacht” Armband, a late-war issue example produced with silk-screened printing on white cotton fabric. The print quality is crude and utilitarian, characteristic of items manufactured hastily in the final months of the Third Reich.

The armband displays a painted black and red design with the inscription “Deutscher Volkssturm Wehrmacht” across the center. Such armbands were mass-distributed in 1944–1945 to members of the Volkssturm—Germany’s national militia formed during the desperate closing phase of World War II.

The Volkssturm was composed primarily of males aged 16 to 60 who were not already serving in the regular armed forces. This militia represented the last mobilization of Germany’s manpower for homeland defense as the Allied forces advanced into the Reich.

An authentic artifact of Germany’s final wartime mobilization, this armband is a historically significant collectible representing the end-stage organization of the Wehrmacht and the total war policies of the Third Reich.
